I love astrology. I find it not only fascinating, but also extremely accurate. One of the most incredible things about astrology is that it is one of the oldest “systems” in our history and is still accurate today. When used properly it can give in depth insight into our selves and help us to grow. It is a essentially a tool which has been harnessed throughout history to aid us in further discovery of ourselves.
One of the common misperceptions about astrology is when people read the newspaper, look at their horoscope and say, “that sounds nothing like me.” Why is that? Because astrology is actually a very in depth chart which is based on the EXACT time and date you were born. If you Google, Libra, you will get a set of start and end dates for the timeframe when “Libra’s” are born. That will give you a generic look at Libra traits. Horoscopes however are conducted of charts, houses and planets which are what gives you a full accurate synopsis of your sign.
These are samples of astrology charts:
Pretty in-depth right? Maybe a little more so than your typical newspaper horoscope? Charts such as these tell where every star and planet was at the EXACT time of your birth. When you read your horoscope you are simply reading where the sun was at the time of your birth. Your main sign is your Sun sign. But depending on where your other planets are, you may exhibit traits from a different sign. For instance:
If you were born under the sign of Libra, which is an Air sign, but you have five planets in Taurus, which is an Earth sign, you may be extremely grounded while someone in Libra may be described as “airy”. Therefore, when you read the Libra horoscope you may think astrology is a bunch of woo woo and doesn’t have any clout.
The only way to get a real idea of your horoscope is by having a chart made. You can get wonderful insight from the book ‘The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need’, which is an awesome astrology book that will tell you more about yourself and also show you how to do your own chart!
You can also order a full personalized chart from The Universal Lightworkers for $18.95 HERE
These are two fantastic resources for finding out more about yourself through astrology.
Based off the of the Sun signs, I thought it would be fun to do an Astrology theme song list! Here are the main traits of each sign along with songs that correlate to one of the main traits!
*NOTE* This is all in good fun and while maybe factual, it is also meant to be humorous, so if you’re taking it too seriously you’re probably a Virgo…
Capricorn – December 22-January 20
Positive Traits: Resourceful. Determined, Organized, Realistic, Patient, Witty, Thoughtful, Hard-Working, Strong Willed, Ambitious, Humorous.
Less Positive Traits: Distrusting, Conceited, Pessimistic, Detached, Moody
Starting the wheel is Capricorn known for their need and ability to generate Money, the Capricorn theme song is none other then Money, By Pink Floyd.
‘Money’ by Pink Floyd
Aquarius – January 20-Febuary 18
Positive Traits: Dependable, Intellectual, Strong-Willed, Loyal, Impartial, Independant, Inventive.
Less Positive Traits: Aloof, Cranky, Intensive, Unemotional, Non-Commital, Tactless.
Known for the phase, “I know”, The Aquarius theme song is Stevie Wonder’s “He’s Misstra Know it All” For anyone born between January 20-Febuary 18, this ones for you…
And more importantly, this….
Pisces February 19-March20
Positive Traits: Sensitive, Intuitive, Wise, Romantic, Caring, Selfless
Less Positive Traits: Low self-esteem, addictive personality, over sensitive, temperamental, escapist (thus the addictive personality)
While Pisces is actually one of my favorite signs (and my husband’s Sun sign) their addictive personalities has earned them the theme song ‘Want’ by The Cure.
‘Want’ By The Cure
Aries – March 21-April 20
Positive Traits: Curious, Energetic, Helpful, Direct, Assertive,
Less Positive Traits: Vain, Brash, Bossy, Impulsive
Pretty self explanatory.
‘You’re So Vain’ By Carly Simon
Taurus April 21-May 20
Positive Traits: Warm hearted, Generous, Patient, Loyal, Creative, Through, Artistic. Simplistic
Less Positive Traits: Argumentative, Stubborn,
I am so blessed to have a newborn baby girl who is a Taurus. I have known a few Taurus women and they are so strong and patient. I am so happy to have my little girl under this Sun sign. This song is all about being simple, a trait I think we could all use a little more of…
Gemini – May 21-June 21
Positive Traits: Clever, Witty, Curious, Mysterious, Charming, Understanding, Intellectual, Playful
Less Positive Traits: Fickle, Superficial, Lack of direction, Anxious
For anyone who has ever dated a Gemini, you’ll probably watch this video and shake your head at how ridiculously accurate it is. You may even shed a tear… With lyrics such as “Just as I thought it was going alright, I find out I’m wrong when I thought it was right” how could this not be the Gemini theme song? The close runner up was “Hello, Goodbye” by The Beatles.
That’s All By Genesis
Cancer – June 22-July 23
Positive Traits: Tenacious, Helpful, Supportive, Dependable, Family Oriented, Sensitive, Devoted
Less Positive Traits: Intense, Touchy, Possessive, Moody, Needy
This is no better theme song for Cancer. Ask anyone who knows anything about astrology what to say one word that describes Cancer and they will most likely respond with, “Family”. Cancer is so family oriented they have earned the song, ‘We Are Family’ by Sister Sledge.
‘We Are Family’ By Sister Sledge
Leo July 24-August 23
Positive Traits: Generous, Expressive, Magnetic, Powerful, Courageous, Happy, Stylish
Less Positive Traits: Arrogant, Pushy, Jealous, Pompous, Proud.
Who likes attention? If you’re a Leo you should be raising your hand. Many Leo’s end up in show business due to their desire to be loved and adored. To match your needing of adornment, here is one of the most beautiful theme songs to match.
I Wanna Be Adored by The Stone Roses
Virgo – August 24- September 23
Positive Traits: Dedicated, Reliable, Efficient Analytical, Observant, Helpful, Thoughtful, Sympathetic
Less Positive Traits: Bitchy, Fussy, Shrewd, Obsessive Compulsive, Worrisome, Anal Retentive
Nothing is ever good enough is it? Well Sarah Mclachlan has something to say about that in your theme song.
‘Good Enough’ by Sarah Mclachlan
Libra September 24-October 22
Positive Traits: Expressive, Romantic, Charming, Social, Sincere, Gracious, Peaceful, Graceful
Less Positive Traits: Undecided, Escapist, Detached, Flirtatious
The always unsure Libra, weighing the scales, unable to make a decision, has been given the ever-so-fitting theme song, ‘How Can I Be Sure?’ By the Rascals. Now try to decide if you want to watch the video or not.
‘How Can I Be Sure?’ by The Rascals
Scorpio October 23-November 22
Positive Traits: Passionate, Magnetic, Intense, Social, Complex, Loving, Brave, Thoughtful, Loyal
Less Positive Traits: Possessive (like, scary possessive) Jealous, Aggressive, Destructive
What I love about this is that even though it could be taken personally and could be considered offensive, any Scorpio (myself included) will think this is totally accurate. Scorpios are the most intense, jealous, and difficult sign and yet, we seem to have no difficulty in admitting this. In fact, we find it humorous.
For all my Scorpios out there, this is our theme song!
#1 Crush by Garbage!
Sagittarius November 22-December 21
Positive Traits: Enthusiastic, Carefree, Honest, Open, Generous, Optimistic
Less Positive Traits: Blunt, Rigid, Aloof, Carefree
Freedom, for the Sagittarius, is the number one goal in life which is why it’s on both the Positive and Less Positive Traits list. Any song about freedom would work well but the winner (and also picked by a Sagittarius) is ‘On The Road Again’ By Willie Nelson which seems custom tailored just for Sagittarius.
On The Road Again by Willie Nelson
That’s the list! What do you think? Have you ever felt there was a song that described an astrology sign perfectly? How about now that you’re thinking about it? What songs do you think should have made the cut? Let me know and I may include them in a round two theme song list!
